How it works
Every save creates a new version automatically. The version timeline shows all changes chronologically with timestamps and change summaries. Side-by-side diff view highlights exactly what changed between any two versions. Restoring a previous version creates a new version so you never lose the current state either. Versions are stored efficiently using delta compression.

Why it matters
Knowledge evolves. What you wrote last month might need updating, but the original context is often valuable too. Version history means you can edit confidently knowing nothing is lost. It also provides an audit trail -- you can see how your understanding of a topic evolved over time, which is valuable for learning and collaboration.
